Rock and Rise is a Squamish based climbing festival for women and people of expansive genders. Join us in celebration of diversity in outdoor sports and an opportunity to redefine the stereotype of what a rock climber “should” look like.

EMPOWERMENT AND COMMUNITY

Our annual climbing festival celebrates diversity in outdoor sports through a weekend of climbing and camping in beautiful Squamish, BC.

Expect a stacked program of inspirational speakers, mentorship-style instruction, a local artists’ market, and evening entertainment! The event will kick off Friday evening with opening presentations, followed by two days of climbing on world-class granite. We’ll be offering a selection of skills clinics from beginner to advanced levels, or come make new friends and just go climbing! Head on back to the campground Saturday evening for a shared meal, live music, art, sponsor booths and more fun surprises! We’ll wrap things up Sunday late afternoon. Details about the clinics and programming will be released in the spring.

OUR FOUNDATION

Our primary mission is to create a safe space to be our true selves, and we do not tolerate harassment of any kind, including unwanted contact, verbal or physical abuse, racism, homophobia, transphobia, body-shaming, etc.

We recognize that everyone comes with their own set of barriers, and that financial challenges play a huge factor in inaccessibility to the outdoors and outdoor sport. We are working hard to keep prices affordable, and we thank the support of our sponsors for making this possible. Beyond this, we are committed to offering a selection of full-ride scholarships, so stay tuned!

Rock and Rise takes place on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Skwxwú7mesh First Nation. Across Canada and all of the Americas, First Nations People have suffered needlessly and appallingly throughout the eras of colonization, and the impacts and intergenerational traumas are widespread today. Our festival will be FREE* for members of the Sḵwx̱ú7mesh and Líl̓wat Territories. Details TBD. *limited spots available
